Privacy policy

Short version

This is a personal portfolio. It has no accounts, no forms, no cookies and no advertising. It counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which is anonymous and cookieless: it shows me totals like page views and countries, never who you are. Fonts, images and icons are served from this site, not from third parties.

Who is responsible

The controller of the personal data described here is Filip-Daniel Mercioniu, Romania. Contact: filip.work14@gmail.com.

What is processed and why

Server logs. When you open the site, the hosting provider automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are kept only as long as the hosting provider needs them for these purposes, and are not used to identify you.

Visit statistics. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. For each page view it records the page, the referring site, your approximate location (country, region, city), device type, operating system and browser. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device. To tell visits apart for one day, it uses a hash calculated from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours, and your IP address is not stored with the data. I only see aggregated numbers and cannot identify you. Purpose: understanding how many people visit and which pages they read. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by writing to me, or block the counter with any common content blocker; the site works the same either way.

Language. The language you pick is part of the web address (/ro/ for Romanian). Nothing is stored on your device.

Email. If you write to me, I receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and use them only to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask for before a possible collaboration (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). I keep the conversation only as long as it is useful and delete it on request.

Who else receives data

Only the service providers that make this possible: the hosting and analytics provider, Vercel Inc. (server logs and visit statistics), and the email provider, Google (emails you send me). They may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

Links to other sites

The site links to GitHub and to project websites such as openterm.app. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you open them.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to filip.work14@gmail.com and I will answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or to the authority in your own EU country.

Changes

If the site starts collecting anything new, this page will be updated before that happens, with a new date at the top.
